I Hate Public Speaking

geogum.com
This picture perfectly depicts the way I feel about public speaking. I'm a complete scaredy cat! But today I was shown a video that made me realize I'm not alone in my utter cowardly nature. This video's message proved to me and the rest of my class we all have a natural fear of talking in front of people. We all get a little weak in our knees, perhaps stutter and stammer through whatever it is we are trying to talk about. We all stay up all night before the speech, partly because we are studying like crazy, and partly because we are too stress and nervous about messing up or something ridiculous. So this means that we should not be afraid anymore! We should band together against this fear, and march right up to the podium with our head held high, because we know we are going to do the best we can do under the circumstances.

Best Call A Surgeon

This coming Tuesday, September 13th, is a big day for the world of indie music. So many albums are dropping I don't even know what to do with myself!! Das Racist, Neon Indian, CANT, and one of my favorites St. Vincent! And there's more but I can't even think of them I'm so excited. You should check out St. Vinnie's newest single from her upcoming album "Surgeon". I dig it!

Up Up & Away

Photo from fineartamerica.com
As I have expressed earlier, I really want to become a journalist. But not just any journalist. I want to travel the world and write about my experiences to share them with everyone! I know that it sounds a bit far-fetched, but hey, they always told us to dream big right? So this is my big dream. It's what I'm shooting for. I wouldn't be totally crushed if I didn't achieve this goal, I'm pretty easily content. I don't care if I live in a crappy apartment and eat soup every night, as long as I'm doing what I love to do I'll be happy.

It's a tennis thing, you wouldn't understand. Yes tennis is pretty much all I do with my life at this young age, and it's getting a tad bit boring after eight years of doing the same thing. I'm super tired all of the time, and my knees ache all the time. Especially when it's cold or raining. I don't mean to complain by any means! It is my decision to play anyways. My mom has even encouraged me to quit, but I only have one more year to play. Let's just hope my knee doesn't crack in half and I won't be able to walk around my college campus.

The Next Four Years

Indiana University Bloomington
bing.com/travel 'Beautiful College Campuses: Indiana University, Bloomington'
I'm sure most of you reading this have heard about my total excitement of getting into my dream school, Indiana University. I seriously love it there. The campus and everything in it is just so perfect for me. They have a school of journalism, which I plan on trying to get into my freshman year. Assuming that is that they accept me, because most have to wait until their second year after they finish their general classes. But I feel like I'm driven enought to do both. :) Did I mention I was excited? More like completely stoked! Only 163 more days of high school, and then I'll be moving on to where I want to be, and what I want to become. :)

Hopeless Romantic

Marc Chagall "The Birthday" aka "The Kiss" 1915

I chose this picture from someones 'tumblr.com' account because not only is Marc Chagall one of my favorite artists, I feel like this describes me perfectly. Beginning from a young age, I was fascinated with fairytales and falling in love. I thought it was just the greatest thing in the world. As I've gotten older, I've began to realize that love doesn't totally exist in fairytale form. But you find someone who loves you for who you are, and all you hope to be. They accept you for your weird habits, and love you more because of them. As cheesy as this is to most of you reading, it's pure honesty on my part.

And They Went Willldddddd

This summer I experienced the most incredible concert I've ever good fortune of going to. Bright Eyes. The lead singer of the band, Conor Oberst is like..my girly highschool crush. Needless to say, I was pretty starstruck by being merely feet away from him. He is such a visionary, and the lyrics honestly made me cry in front of a huge hall full of people. Oh, and the opening band, the Mountain Goats, were pretty good too. Their drummer looks like the dead comedian.
